can i take my prescription medication (restoril) if it has been out of its original container?
i was prescribed restoril but never thought about taking it till last night but was not sure if it would be safe because they have been taken out of the original container and have been chilling in my closet for a while (funny fact i took them out cuz im so desperate for kitchen supply in my college dorm i use it as a cup... pretty sad ha) the container says that the medication should be in its original container sealed tight and kept away from children. now im wondering if it should be closed tight so children cant get to it or so oxygen does not get in the bottle and make the pills expire faster or what... help would be appreciated exp. if you are a doctor thanks.
The main reason to store restoril in the original container is to keep it away from light and moisture (and children). It will be fine to take. Next time, go to Goodwill and pick up a cup for 25 cents and leave the med in the container.
