My friend needs to get a back brace for a fake injury. He is extremely committed to get more attention . As a brother of 3 other boys and 4 girls, he deserves a little more. But he's 100% sure that he wants to hurt himself. He it willing to jump out his second story window or throw himself down the 3 flights of stairs at school to get a back brace, neck brace, wheelchair, or all three. Please help! this should be in the psychology section; this kid has issues. you need to talk to him and let him know that people care and that he can do other more positive things to earn his parents attention. tell him to talk to his parents about it, because his plan could go seriously wrong and he can regret it. if he lands one inch out of place he could pinch a nerve in his spine and be paralyzed. 30 years from now he will be sitting there wondering why he even decided to take matters into his own hands and jump off a building...
Make sure he knows the reality of his actions, and the possible consequences that could follow.
but as for the back brace thing i don't really know what you're asking.. maybe he could go to the local pharmacy and get one of those long cloth strands that you wrap around a sprained wrist or something and use that to get his attention. that's better than jumping off a building.
