When you spin a small electric motor does it generate electricity?

Like say i have a motor that i took out of my rc car. It has brushes, i think its like a 14 turn motor. Anyways if i hook the wires to like a LED light and the turn the shaft on the motor will it light up the LED?

probably.
it must have permanent magnets.
depending on the voltage and current produced.
LEDs don't go on a little bit at a time.
they stay off until there is sufficient current to operate them.
-- can you turn the motor anywhere near it's running speed? probably not. that being the case, you'll probably not get enough out.
-- you'll have to check what it took to run the motor. for example, if it used 1 AA battery, you won't be able to get more than 1 1/5 volts, and a few milliamps out of it.
